Barkingside New Hope Fellowship began as a house group meeting in the South Woodford area, providing Christian support and friendship in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.

As we grew we became assured through prayer that God wanted us to move out of the house and into the community, effectively beginning a new church plant.  We expected this to be in the Woodford area, but through unexpected circumstances we were led to the Manna House, a non-denominational Christian Centre in Barkingside High Street.  This gave us a comfortable and unassuming home right in the heart of the Barkingside community.

Our members come from all walks of life, young and old, married and single, male and female.  Our services are informal and our style of worship is evangelical but not charismatic.  Typically our services consist of several hymns, an interactive children’s message, a time of prayer and reflection, and a sermon lasting around 15 to 20 minutes.  Communion is offered once a month.

We are affiliated to the Worldwide Church of God, a denomination active in around 90 countries and a member in the UK of the Evangelical Alliance.  We are also a member of the North Ilford Fellowship of Churches (NIFOC).
